Graduate Route Changes (From 1 January 2027)
The Graduate Route, enabling post-study work in the UK, will see changes:
- Bachelor’s & Master’s graduates: Post-study stay reduced from 2 years to 18 months. The Graduate Route (Post-Study Work Visa) duration will be reduced from 2 years to 18 months. (This means students who will apply for the PSW after 1st January 2027 will be granted the reduced years)
- PhD graduates: Unchanged at 3 years.
Maintenance Funds Increase (From 11 November 2025)
New visa applicants must show:
- London: £1,529/month (up to £13,761 for 9 months).
- Outside London: £1,171/month (up to £10,539 for 9 months).
- Accommodation Offset Limit: Increased to £1,529
(This means students can deduct up to £1,529 from their maintenance fund requirement if they have already paid for university accommodation.)
